ECCO SAVE:

Each year in Australia over 11 million ink and 3 million laser cartridges are imported in Australia. Approximately 80% of these cartridges are destined to end up as landfill, leaching chemicals and taking many hundreds of years to break down. eccosave is a cartridge collection program established to divert the disposal of these empty cartridges from landfill.

Recycling computers - The Compubank Project by PC Graveyard

RECYCLING COMPUTERS - THE COMPUBANK PROJECT BY PC GRAVEYARD:

PC Graveyards objective as a company is to keep computers alive by reuse and recycling of parts and equipment. PC Graveyard has been working hard on sourcing older parts and equipment from landfill, auctions and other areas to keep as a resource for parts within our repair and service centre as well as for our museum of old and odd computer, IT and electronic equipment.

Recycling Office Equipment - Equipment Recycling Network

RECYCLING OFFICE EQUIPMENT - EQUIPMENT RECYCLING NETWORK:
(Victoria only)

In addition to our database advertising of Disability Aids, we recycle computers donated by businesses, community-spirited organisations and individuals. We have volunteer technicians who wipe clean donated computers. These computers are made available (at a nominal cost) to people on Disability Pensions. Health Care Card holders may also be considered.

Waste Avoidance Resource Recovery - NSW

WASTE AVOIDANCE RESOURCE RECOVERY - NSW:

As the highest priority, Avoidance encourages the community to reduce the amount of waste it generates and to be more efficient in its use of resources. Resource Recovery maximises the options for reuse, reprocessing, recycling and energy recovery at the highest net value of the recovered material. This encourages the efficient use of recovered resources while supporting the principles of improved environmental outcomes and ecologically sustainable development. Resource recovery can also embrace new and emerging technologies.

W R A P P - NSW

WASTE REDUCTION AND PURCHASING POLICY - NSW:

The NSW Government’s Waste Reduction and Purchasing Policy (WRAPP) was announced by the Premier in September 1997. The policy requires all state government agencies and state owned corporations to develop and implement a WRAPP plan to reduce waste in four scheduled areas: paper products, office equipment and components, vegetation material; and construction and demolition material.
